Elephant Nature Park Dogs

— Mission —

Our mission is to provide dogs with a place of refuge and peaceful living environment for their entire lives. We strive to offer each dog with the individual medical care, attention, and enrichment they deserve.

In addition to serving as a long-term animal care facility, we also provide community outreach services to residents of the surrounding areas of Elephant Nature Park. We offer subsidised preventative health care services and perform sterilisation surgeries to assist in reducing the pet overpopulation that affects the area.

— General Information —

During the later months of 2011, several hundred dogs were rescued from catastrophic flooding in Bangkok. After the waters resided, those lucky enough to be saved and sheltered temporarily were in need of a forever home. Elephant Nature Park answered the call for help and now shelters approximately 230 of these dogs, as well as approximately 100 dogs rescued from the villages and the dog meat trade.

After the floods receded, the only home open to them was to go back on the streets. They had been spayed and neutered, given emergency medical treatment, but they were homeless. Lek, the Founder of Elephant Nature Park, and Darrick, Lek's partner and Founder of the Dog Sanctuary, knew that these dogs deserved better, and gave them ALL forever homes, where they are safe, well fed, have their medical needs met, and most importantly where they are loved.

Many dogs were abandoned by their owners during the height of the floods, they were left to survive on the streets but didn't have the survival skills. "After feeling their arms around our necks as we pulled them out of the water, how could we put the dogs back on the streets or left to the slaughter houses?" said Lek.

— How You Can Help? —

There are many ways to help:

Adopt a forever friend: these loyal loving dogs need homes. Although they will always have homes here with us, they would love to have their own special family to love. Please consider adopting them into your lives.

Volunteer at the Park: come and experience the magic of being with elephants, where elephants get to be elephants doing elephant things, living their own lives, and meet the sanctuary dogs

Donate: the cost of meeting the needs of these rescued dogs is considerable, and although we meet these costs willingly, your donations would be greatly appreciated. We are also in the process of establishing a fully functional clinic.

Donations would be greatly appreciated to help us care for these animals in the best way possible. Please see our wish list below and let us know if you would be interested in donating funds for the less expensive items or fundraising for any of the more expensive items listed.
